Police Parades Armed Robbery And Rape Suspects In Kwara

The police also apprehended a female student of School of Health Technology in Offa for luring her friend to be raped by five students of the same institution.

Briefing journalists on the activities of the Command in the last three weeks, the state Commissioner of Police, Ambrose Aisabor noted that the police intercepted a vehicle, Opel Vetral with registration number BSA 24 XA with four occupants.

While searching the vehicle, three of the occupants escaped, while one by name Bala Muhammad from Nasarawa state was arrested with various ammunition and the sum of over two hundred thousand naira was recovered having just allegedly robbed traders plying the road.

The suspect, Bala Muhamaad from Nasarawa State, who spoke through an interpreter denied being an armed robber but claimed to be a passenger in the vehicle where he was arrested.

One of the victims of the robbery, Taiwo Olayeyi, who claims to be a student, sponsoring herself from the profit of her business, enumerated how they were attacked and robbed and passionately pleaded for the return of her money in order to continue her education.

Another suspect paraded was Mary Awolola of School of Health Technology, Offa, for luring her co-female student to be raped by five students of the same institution.

Although two of the alleged rapists were arrested, three are still at large. Other suspects paraded include suspects of members of secret cults and other armed robbery gangs in the state.
