Pastor arrested for “fingering” church member to test virginity

Adekunle Kayode, the Pastor in charge of Jesus is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta in Ogun State became the guest of the Ogun State Police Command on Sunday following allegations that he fingered a member of his church on the same day within the premises of the church in order to confirm the member’s virginity.

The 34-year-old pastor was arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division in Abeokuta in his house, No 3, Okeyidi, Abeoukuta, after the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who informed the police about the incident.

The 20-year-old victim reportedly went under the influence of the ‘Holy Spirit’ which propelled her to reveal the misdeeds of the pastor who has indulged in the ungodly act for years.
The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, DSP who confirmed the arrest of the pastor disclosed to Street Journal that another suspect, Onatade Oluwasegun, 23 was arrested for a similar offence.

Onatade who resides at No 4 Sheriff Onatade Street, Obantoko was arrested for conspiring with the said pastor to use the victim for a ritual purpose.
Adejobi disclosed that the father of the victim had first told the police that his daughter alleged that the pastor has fingered her severally even when she was having her menstrual period.
She also claimed that the pastor recently fingered her to confirm her virginity when she went for a program in the church.

The victim, who is still “in the Spirit” claimed that Oluwasegun used a charm with a view to raping her as directed by the pastor possibly for a ritual but God saved her and the police have recovered the charm from the pastor within the church premises.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye has directed that the matter be transferred to the SCID Eleweran for further investigation

In Another development, one Bisi Onigogo of J6 Camp, Ogbere allegedly beat his 12-year-old daughter, Yemi Onigbogbo to death while trying to correct her for some misbehaviour around 4 pm on Monday, 3rd March.

The suspect ran away immediately he noticed that the young girl was dead.
Adejobi stated that efforts have been intensified by the police and community members to get him apprehended and brought to book.
